The Bureau of Land Management is advertising to hire two supervisory land surveyor positions! In these positions you will support the Bureau's mission of multiple-use to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations, as well as supporting numerous other Federal agencies needs including the National Park Service, Bureau of Reclamations, Forest Service, Indian Tribes and others.
Duties: This is a supervisory position with vacancies in Medford and Prineville, Oregon, or Spokane, Washington, and may require infrequent travel. Applicants in this position will be responsible for the oversight, direction, and management of multiple survey crews. Including the planning of field and office tasks to support the BLM’s mission at a District and the State level. You will be involved in the creation of project documentation, tracking of progress in field, and critical review of Federal Authority surveys. This position functions as the main point of contact land managers with the BLM and other Federal and private entities in their area of operation, working to identify and prioritize boundary support.
Applicants need to be good communicators, strong management and leadership skills, and understanding of survey practices related to the Public Land Survey System.
