Horrocks Engineers is seeking a highly motivated Professional Land Surveyor who is a self-driven team player to join our growing survey group in Washington. Must have experience in land development and transportation projects; skill in municipal projects is a plus. Responsibilities
Apply a wide variety of field techniques including terrestrial to aerial and robotic to scanning, to determine boundaries, prepare maps for design services and provide construction surveying services.
Research and interpret survey records, deeds and other information needed to carry out surveys.
Responsible for determining boundaries for roads, pipelines, facility sites, and other right of ways and easements.
Compiles survey reports and drawings in compliance with applicable standards of accuracy in a professional and timely manner.
Compiles information necessary to stake projects for construction, using engineering plans, and reviews such work.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Considerable knowledge in property/ownership/documentation research, boundary law, writing legal descriptions, and preparing boundary surveys, plats, ALTA surveys, terrestrial topographic maps, construction staking, and roadway right-of-way projects.
Strong working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, MS Office. OPUS solution experience and point cloud exposure a plus.
Fluent with Trimble equipment.
Precision and ability to perform QA/QC is critical.
Working knowledge of Survey and Engineering principles and practices within the State of Washington.
Washington State Professional Land Surveyor license (or capable of becoming licensed within 1 year of employment) is required.
