Key Responsibilities
- Create aerial mapping projects using and optimizing the latest LiDAR, imaging, and magnetometer payloads for RPAS systems
- Use a variety of GNSS systems to undertake Static, RTK, and PPK control and topographical surveys
- Leverage existing field experience and surveying knowledge to solve problems in the field and assess dataset quality
- Establish project scope, budget and schedule, and other project or client expectations
- Lead survey crews on projects; communicate scope and scheduling information to crew members
- Liaise with both internal and external Project Managers and clients
- Manage information flow from field to final deliverables
- Ensure quality assurance procedures are carried out for fieldwork and data processing.
- Plan and execute flight plans in varied and challenging environments
- Fly a variety of large commercial RPAS systems, including DJI, Freefly and others
- Build relationships with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds and industries
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or Geodesy; Technical Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics or other similar technical discipline
- Minimum 1 year of full-time field surveying experience
- Proficient in the operation of survey equipment such as GNSS
- Professional expertise in surveying, GIS, CAD software and mapping using drones/aerial systems.
- Knowledge of advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAV)/Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS)/drone data capture and processing methods, including photogrammetry, LiDAR, thermography.
- Experience flying drones preferred; UAV license an asset
- Valid Canadian passport and ability to travel to the US
