Description & Nature of Work:
Serve as Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) applications Surveyor.
Develop, implement, and manage geospatial CADD applications used in topographic and right of way mapping production. This includes production assistance for both Department and consultant CADD users.
Consult with surveyors and mappers who use CADD applications and other software to ensure the functionality, relationships and graphics requirements are met as intended.
Coordinate with Production Support CADD section and serve as technical advisor and chairman of the Surveying and Mapping Technical Advisory Committee.
Report committee activities to management as required and report support activities in the CADD problem log.
Assist with the testing and evaluation of hardware and software related to surveying and mapping, including performance and compatibility evaluations.
Make recommendations based on evaluations and testing.
Provide support and regular training for CADD hardware and software.
Manage the development of Quality Assurance Review (QAR) processes and measures for location surveying and right of way surveying and mapping disciplines.
Coordinate Quality Assurance Reviews of the District Surveying and Mapping functions for all disciplines including but not limited to CADD, Right of Way Mapping, and Mobile Remote Sensing.
Coordinate with other Quality Assurance experts to implement cohesive, synchronized plans that reinforce the role of Surveying and Mapping.
Lead the integration of 3D CADD and Right of Way mapping data with national data standards to promote design survey and cadastral data governance in support of the Department's Reliable Organized Accurate Data Sharing (ROADS) initiative.
Assist with developing and updating policies, procedures, manuals, handbooks, guidelines, and training materials related to surveying, mapping, automated data collection, data processing, and graphical presentation of data.

Surveying and mapping terminology, principles, practices, tools, and techniques.
The Department's project workflow.
Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) standards.

Integrate surveying and mapping technology with CADD technology.
Identify and interpret end user problems and offer solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:
License to practice Professional Surveying and Mapping in Florida per Chapter 472 Florida Statutes.
