Chapman Technical Group, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Survey Technician in St. Albans, WV. Chapman Technical Group, a division of GRW Engineers, Inc. is a full-service engineering, architectural, landscape architectural, and geospatial consulting firm. The company provides engineering services to federal, state, municipal, and private industry clients. Working from offices in St. Albans and Buckhannon, West Virginia, we have achieved an outstanding reputation for providing high-quality design projects, while meeting client schedules and budgets, and have received numerous awards for our work. The Survey Technician will be responsible for determining precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, map making, land division, titles, or other purposes. Experience, skills and qualifications should include: Surveyor in Training (SIT) registration in West Virginia or ability to achieve registration within 1 year Boundary, topographic and route location surveying experience Knowledge of GPS and terrestrial scanning technologies, methods, and software Topcon Surveying equipment, Autocad Civil 3d and/or Carlson Survey products experience a plus Ability to work outside independently or with a field crew Valid driver's license and travel required Excellent oral and written English communication skills to effectively write reports and business correspondence, and present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and the general public.
