Regional Survey Manager – East Area
Founded in 1960, Trans Ash, is a rapidly growing privately held Cincinnati, Ohio based civil land construction & environmental company. We are expanding our survey services and are seeking to add a Regional Survey Manager to our surveying team to work on civil land construction projects with our valued customers in the utility industry. This position will be based out of the Central North Carolina Area. Travel within North Carolina and neighboring states will be required periodically including to the home office located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Job Description:
The Regional Survey Manager is responsible for all aspects of managing the eastern region of the survey department to execute the surveying needs of the sites per the contract drawings and specifications. Work will include all aspects of surveying including baseline surveys, construction layout, as built surveys, aerial (drone) surveying, hydro surveying, associated CAD work and certification (stamping) survey work. The Regional Surveyor Manager will be an integral part of the project team, will communicate with the senior leadership in Cincinnati and communicate directly to the customer. Essential Functions:
Certification (Stamping) survey work as needed by the specifications at all Trans Ash jobs
Ability to effectively manage the region and mentor site surveyors.
Site surveying, CAD and machine control management
Performs work both in the field and in office environment
Performs construction staking and topographic surveys
Assists in creation of as built drawings for project QA/QC
Maintain survey records, GPS and CAD files
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents
Accommodate client and jobsite needs by responding to all inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education:
The ideal candidate will possess a 2 or 4-year degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in the field management of construction surveying projects preferred
Training Requirements:
North Carolina PLS certification required or pass the next available test to receive certification, with the ability and desire to pick up additional states in our work area.
Proficient with business software: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Experience using Trimble GPS equipment and Trimble machine control is preferred
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred
Experience with Trimble Business Center is preferred
Experience with Hypack dredge/surveying software is preferred
PLS, LSIT or Certified Survey Technician III / IV (CST III / IV) preferred, but not required
Other Information:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work in all types of weather, and walk for extended periods of time.
Must be physically able to perform the work outside.
Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, MVR, and background check.
Must be able to work in a construction environment.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Be at least 18 years of age.
