Land Surveyor/ Survey Tech - Massachusetts
GCG Associates is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor/Survey Technician immediately. The position will require the surveyor to both complete various types of field surveys and drafting of plans in the office. The ideal candidate will split their time between the office and field and will report directly to the Professional Land Surveyor in charge. It is expected that this candidate has developed the basics skills in performing land surveyors. All survey projects are located throughout Massachusetts and will require traveling at times.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- At least two years of combined surveying experience and/or formal surveying education.
- At least one year of office experience in drafting using AutoCAD Civil3D is preferred.
- Experience with projects that have included boundary, topographic, existing conditions, utility, and construction layout surveys.
- Proficient in the use of survey equipment such as total stations, data collectors, auto levels, and GPS units.
- Excellent math, communication, and organizational skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a high school diploma.
- Experience with MassDOT projects, drone surveys, drone licensing, SIT certification, and PLS licensure are all plusses.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Use basic hand tools
- Travel across rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces
- Lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds
- Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements
- Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time
