SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Incumbent must qualify to fill the vacancies of Usher/Gateman, Information Clerk, Red Cap, Foreman and Lead Clerk.
Knowledge of train schedules/routings/fare and connecting points. Serve as receptionist when directed, project a courteous attitude. Experience on ARROW System, will train. Provide train manifests. Communicate service requests. Conform to Amtrak uniform policy, safety program and Rules of Conduct. Responsible for timetables, other Amtrak material.
Operate elevators, escalators, PA system, portable radio and train gate/light system. Make station announcements in reference to boarding, arrivals, delays and general info. Post gate signs for all trains. Assist passengers with baggage to/from trains ensure their protection/security.
Assist handicapped passengers, operate motorized vehicles, provide public with accurate info.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
